Um…did you read the post? I specifically pointed out all the ways that WYSIWYG word processors are a bad idea. I spent a good deal of time talking about “text processors” as opposed to “word processors” (which are WYSIWYG), and how text processors like TeX are better.

I know “read the post” is generally beyond the pale for a response, but really having trouble understanding how you possibly could have concluded that I WYSIWYG word processors here.

Done mostly by simply using Notepad. I only use a WYSIWYG editor like lite', an old program and the more modern NVU to do up tables which I then copy and paste into my pages.

In place of WYSIWYG, I very happily used Sprint, a word processor which comprised an excellent text mode text editor, and a really excellent output processor. Dot commands instructed the output processor hat I wanted, and all these years later, when I pull an old printout from a binder or file that was produced in that fashion, the visual quality immediately tells me it was from Sprint.

Moreover, I will that WYSIWYG is, for most people, a drag on productivity. There is a natural tendency for people to fiddle with the appearance instead of tightening up their prose.

Finally, your inclusion of TeX puts the lie to your own that WYSIWYG is necessary.

The "meta" command you put inside the function is strictly HTML. The browser see it in the javascript function, and javascript give it to the browser after finished loading the page. Especially since "meta" commands go in the "Header" section anyway.

There are things Javascript can change in the "Body" section at run-time (hence Ajax functions), but meta-tags are not on that list.

What you want to do in that function is operate a javascript "window" directive, in "window.location url"; Alternatively, you can set the document href, i.e. "document.href url";

e.g.:
